Domaine Clavel
The first time I traveled to France after becoming an importer, I made a beeline to the home of Estelle and Pierre Clavel. I had been a fan of Clavel wines for years, but they were not previously available in Iowa. Domaine Clavel is a true family operation, with son Antoine now joining in the work. Astonishingly, the wines keep getting better and better -- a testament to the Clavels' passionate devotion to principles of organic farming.
